Clothed with Strength – Proverbs 31:25

The Month of September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and is offering this wonderful inspirational image for all you ladies that need hope and encouragement to battle this silent killer. We hope your are clothed with strength.  For us here at one of our very was originally diagnosed with the disease in 2012.  She battled that disease and not only did she survive she overcame it!  God’s hand of mercy working through the doctors, nurses, a good organic diet, and the prayer of all kinds of people helped her overcome it.  God is good.

This photograph is of her right after she started her chemotherapy treatment and even though the chemotherapy ravaging the cancer cells it was also ravaging all her cells, and yet her inner and outer beauty shined like a beacon of hope.  This image was teamed up with a very inspirational Bible verse from Proverbs 31:25 (NLT), which reads: “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

She is to this day clothed with strength and dignity, and her faith in Jesus Christ has given her joy without the fear of an uncertain future.  She is the ultimate warrior princess as far as we are concerned.

Here is the point.  Any person suffering with any disease has hope of being cured.  Of course there aren’t any guarantees people will be healed in this life, but there is power in hope of the future.  I’ve heard it said somewhere; People of a theological bent are often chronically incapable of distinguishing what is true from what they’d like to be true.  I say in response: that’s because a spiritual person’s hope is truer and the so-called truth.  Only an arrogant, chronically selfish, bitterly warped and frustrated person would dare to even pretend to know that “truth” and then make such a weak-minded statement.

Listen to me.  Our hope is the only real thing you and I will ever own.  Your hope is the only weapon you have when faced with ovarian cancer or any other challenge for that matter.  Hope is what you will become; it is your future reality.  So don’t give it up, no matter how much others proclaim something is hopeless.  Stay clothed with strength because your hope is not theirs to take from you.  So, hope in God’s love, healing, mercy, and Jesus’ sacrifice and know that whether we live today or die tomorrow we will overcome and be clothed with strength that you have a future with the Lord.

Know the subtle signs and symptoms.

Women with ovarian cancer report that symptoms are persistent and represent a change from normal for their bodies. The frequency and/or number of such symptoms are key factors in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Several studies show that even early stage ovarian cancer can produce these symptoms.

  • Bloating
  • Pelvic or abdominal pain
  • Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
  • Urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency)

See your doctor, preferably a gynecologist, if you have these symptoms more than 12 times during the course of one month and the symptoms are new or unusual for you.  In 2007, the Alliance and other leading cancer organizations endorsed a consensus statement on ovarian cancer symptoms.  Learn more at
